Multi-Generational Generosity

A Growing Project has flourished in the community of Pulaski, IA for many years, and the Amstutz family has been involved since it began in 2002. Keith Amstutz, who leads the project, is motivated by his faith. He said, “I think it’s our responsibility to continue to share what we have with people around the world.”

The community has indeed shared their resources generously. The Amstutz family has influenced their younger generations to join in that generosity. In recent years, the Growing Project has expanded to include the third generation of the Amstutz family.

Keith’s granddaughter, Fiona Amstutz, began supporting Growing Hope Globally with her FFA Chapter at Davis County High School in Bloomfield, IA by hosting a farmer and community breakfast. While the chapter had hosted breakfasts before, she proposed holding one to support Growing Hope Globally as a way to engage the community. She noted, “It was something meaningful for our chapter, as a lot of kids don’t have the opportunity to make a difference.”

“[The first year] we served around 125 people from the community,” said Amy Mosby, Davis County High School Ag Teacher and FFA Advisor, “The breakfast was organized by the officer team. Fiona Amstutz and her mom, Audrey Amstutz, led the way and gathered all the supplies. Audrey also helped organize the cooking for the breakfast. All seven of our officers as well as a few other FFA members helped prepare the meal. We had very generous donations for the food from Premier Ag Solutions and Davis County Pork Producers. We used the funds from this freewill offering breakfast to start a Growing Hope Globally Growing Project.”

Although Fiona graduated in 2025 and is now attending Iowa State University, the family tradition continues. Her younger sister, Ava, is also a member of the FFA Chapter, and the breakfast was held again this past spring, with the chapter directing the proceeds to the Cambodia South program.

Ava shared, “It has been something my grandpa has been involved with and we are keeping the family tradition alive and it is a good cause to support.”

Keith expressed pride in his granddaughters taking the lead with their FFA chapter, saying, “It does me good to see the tradition carries on and they are caring for others in other countries.”
