Program Summary
Nicaragua’s Northern Caribbean Coast Autonomous Region is characterized by rich cultural diversity but also deep structural challenges, including chronic poverty, high food insecurity, gender-based violence, and recurring natural disasters. This program responds to these challenges through a community-driven approach. Through Farmer Field Schools, demonstration plots, and Savings and Internal Lending Communities, this program not only contributes to improved well-being and livelihoods, but also fosters a culture of peace and resilience in one of Nicaragua’s most vulnerable and diverse regions.
