New Growing Hope Globally President & CEO Appointed

Dear Members of the Growing Hope Globally Community,

On behalf of the Search Committee and the Board of Directors, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Kaitlyn Slate as Growing Hope Globally’s new President & Chief Executive Officer, effective May 1, 2024.

Kaitlyn is a visionary leader who is passionate about working to overcome material poverty by  energizing others to work together to achieve success. We are confident she will inspire our dedicated staff, Board and partners to continue to build on our efforts to grow lasting solutions to hunger in developing countries.

Being born to missionary parents in Nigeria has inspired Kaitlyn’s commitment to international development, and her connection to farming has deep roots with both of her parents growing up on family farms.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Kaitlyn brings an extensive background in fundraising and financial management, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and diversification of revenue streams with a successful history of budget development, financial oversight and resource allocation.

Most recently, Kaitlyn served as Director of Program Excellence at World Renew, an international organization working to transform communities around the world to address poverty and create sustainable progress in food security, economic livelihoods and community health. Previously, she was Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Armstrong State University (now Georgia Southern University) in Savannah.

She holds both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Savannah College of Art and Design, and her doctoral work at Valdosta State University focused on public policy and nonprofit administration and the role of parental leave in positive economic outcomes for women.

After learning of her appointment as President and CEO, Kaitlyn said: “Connecting farmers from the US with global subsistence farmers is a powerful way to build a lasting solution to global hunger while highlighting the inherent value of all God’s people. I am honored to be a part of Growing Hope Globally and excited to carry forward the vision of a day when all people around the world have enough to eat.”

Throughout her career, Kaitlyn’s work has been deeply rooted in improving the lives of others. This new role as our President and CEO is the culmination of her personal and professional path.  Please join us in congratulating Kaitlyn and welcoming her as she moves into her new position in May.

In service with you,
Kevin Skunes
